What do you want to gain from your routine?
First things first you need to know why! Why do you want this routine? What do you gain? How do you gain from it? What is the motivation?
Write it down, save a photo that reminds you and can help motivation when you most need it.
A routine can help you in any of your goals. It’s about forming a habit that is supportive to get you from where you are to where you want to be.

- Gratitude and happiness
Well almost all categories and blogs on this website can benefit from a routine or ritual!

This is one of my reminders. The chronic fatigue was so debilitating that the most simple tasks would exhaust me. I thought if I just ploughed on with some extra sleep things would right themselves.
…… Ooooooh how wrong was I!
Who would’ve thought carrying on juggling multiple jobs, childcare, being the best mummy in the world, conscientious amazing doggie owner, wonderful wife, bestest friend, perfect daughter, helpful colleague, type A personality, not achieving any of these would actually continue the chronic fatigue. Surely I can do it? I have to do it! I’m strong! Cue the guilt and emotional impact too not to mention the anxiety, stress and mental health.
Eventually I did break… Surprise!!!!
But there is good news! Things have improved hugely! I am still on the journey to recovery but what I can do now is leaps and bounds ahead of what I was capable of before. Pillars of rest was one of the routines I added into my day.
Step 1: Acceptance. Acknowledge where you are right now and give in to it. With out hope, agenda or judgement. Just be!
Step 2: Identify: what can I do? (Blog coming soon!)
Step 3: Decide on routines and rituals that support you in what you can do.
Step 4: Choose one small change or routine to include in your day to take you further on your journey.
Step 5: Celebrate the small wins. Keep a record so you can look back on your progress!
So what routine are you going to focus on to help you be healthier, happier and more successful?
