Revel in the Rain

Do you feel like a grey cloud is following you around? Do you ever notice the blue sky? Consider this mindset to support you in shifting through negative thinking, downward spirals and use noticing to support you and give you success.

Beautiful blue skies, such a magnificent colour that can look two dimensional and endless at the same time. Some days a few fluffy clouds that can provide the rest bite to the glorious sunshine. Soak in the warmth, the brightness and store the energy for a rainy day.

Other days you can see more clouds than blue sky. But when the blue sky makes an appearance it’s presence is magnificent and the beauty can overwhelm. The comfort of knowing it’s there and can appear. Recall and remember the blue sky.

What about the days when something is brewing. The clouds are filling the sky and starting to cover and take over the blue sky and you are powerless to change the situation. It is just happening and all you can do is stand back and observe and feel it happening.

Yet other days the path ahead is not clear and we are walking into the clouds and rain but it’s the only route. Keep walking, feel the rain, watch what’s there but move through. Time and the weather do not stand still.

And then the days when we are fully immersed. But what if our mindset shifted?

We know the blue sky is always there, but do we remember it. The sky never stays still. Each view is just a moment in time and that’s it. Things move on, the sky is ever changing. When we reflect on this, so is life. So can we practice feeling emotions but not get caught up in the whole weather system. Emotions happen and they can be felt but do we need to get caught up in them and taken through the mill.

Can we even get to seeing and feeling the blue sky whilst standing in the rain?

What if we could stand back, feel and observe the moments and move through them? What beauty can we observe in a thunderstorm? It could simply be the comfort of our safe cosy bed and knowing that.

Could that release of emotion be what you need to clear the skies?

This week see if at any moments you can stand back and observe what is happening. Be present in the right now. As we learn to do this more we can look for signs and triggers that prevent us from being blown into a thunderstorm.

Imagine if you achieved this just once for a moment this week…. and then repeated that. Small steps keep us moving forward on our journey.

The courage to try, the confidence to fail and the commitment to keep going!
