Just get out and do it!

I have played hockey since I was 10 years old, not to mention playing around the sidelines as my Dad played each weekend. But along the way after becoming pregnant, there was always multiple excuses and reasons why I couldn’t start playing again.
Even after getting back on my feet from a plethora of ill health I still seemed resistant to the notion of picking up a stick and getting out there again.
Well tonight I did, a bit rusty, a lot slower, but I did it. And do you know what, I loved it! The best thing of all: I felt I belonged, at home, something so close to me, that makes me feel like me. How did I ever let it go, lose my way and take 3 years to get the courage to go again! Some things are unexplainable, but I do know I am so glad I made that phone call on Monday, turned up to training tonight and feel just like me!
If you’re lost and looking for yourself, try answering the question: what did I most enjoy when I was a kid?
Happy hunting!
